A grant of £1,000 was given to Temwa in February 2016 for the initial purchase of seeds to support agricultural training programme for farmers in Nkhata Bay area based on a Lead Farmer and Demonstration Farms to support better understanding of practices, resource management and improved food security.  The 2016 programme will train 550 farmers and 6 new Lead Farmers who act as training the trainers in 11 villages across 5 areas.  The seeds aim to introduce additional and varied new vegetable crops and lead farmers set up seed banks to ensure sustainability of the project.
