2021 Project summary
A grant of £1000 to support the construction of a waiting shelter at the Atupele Hospital.
Moses Mlenga, Public Health Officer at Atupele Hospital led this project with collegues. They said: The help in funding which the hospital gets from partners (such as FOMA) makes a great difference in the work we are doing.
2020 Project summary
A grant of £945 to support the purchase of 10 bicycles for the health surveillance volunteers in the tuberculosis (TB) sputum collection team.
Moses Mlenga, Public Health Officer at Atupele Hospital led the project and gave FOMA feedback: Atupele Community Hospital has been so much honoured by the support from Friends of Malawi Association (FOMA). The implementation of the project has been so successful with multiple participants taking various roles to make the project succeed. The Sputum Collection Point volunteers, who are community representatives for issues regarding TB, welcomed the bicycles after a long time of struggling without transportation.
