Saturday 18 June: Summer Reception
The Summer Reception, held in Dorchester on Thames, was attended by over 50 members and guests. Tea and refreshments were served and members were able to walk round the beautiful gardens on a nice summer’s day. The event raised £850 for the Trust Fund.
Friday 14 September: Annual General Meeting
All the Officers and Committee were re-elected.
The accounts for the year ending 30 June 2012 were approved. Income for the year was £5,922 and grants totalling £10,978 were made, bringing total grants over the last ten years to £ 51,861. Donations made during the last financial year were to BEIT Cure Malawi (£1,000), Starfish Malawi (£1,110), Malawi Healthcare Support (£1,000), Tikondane (£1,000), Friends of Mulanje Orphans (£1,688), Sue Ryder Foundation (£1,068), Open Arms (£1,000), small projects supported through VSO UK (£2,300) and Malama Trust (£812).
After the formal proceedings Tim Walker spoke on his research for his forthcoming book on the history of Dr H K Banda.
